NK Varaždin has signed a sponsorship deal with Canadian IT company Upchain. The deal was signed on Friday at the club's headquarters and is worth over a million kuna per year. Upchain is an IT company based in Canada and has been operating in Croatia for several years, employing 47 people. NK Varaždin's president, Stjepan Cvek, pointed out that Upchain has been following the club since its second league days and is now its strongest sponsor. John Laslavic, founder and executive director of Upchain, said that they want the Upchain brand to be seen and recognized in Croatia. Luka Šmic, director at Upchain, added that they have recognized the potential of NK Varaždin. NK Varaždin is in its second top-flight season and currently sits fifth in the league with seven points. On Sunday, they will play against the current champion, Dinamo Zagreb. The club's sports director is Miljenko Mumlek, and the technical director is Dario Jertec, both of whom are legends of the Varaždin team. The team is looking forward to the upcoming match and is hoping to get a good result.
