NK Varaždin hold Osijek to goalless draw with two goals disallowed

NK Varaždin earned a valuable point in a 0-0 draw with Osijek in the 7th round of the HNL, with the visitors seeing two goals disallowed, including one from 16-year-old Izak Ježić.

NK Varaždin held Osijek to a goalless draw in the seventh round of the SuperSport HNL on Saturday. The match at the Varteks stadium finished 0-0, despite the visitors having two goals disallowed by the referee.

Osijek thought they had scored first in the 42nd minute, but 16-year-old Izak Ježić's effort was ruled out for an infringement. A second disallowed goal came in the 86th minute when Domagoj Bukvić found the net following an assist from Armando Leon, though the referee again spotted an offence. NK Varaždin also had a chance to win the game, with Luka Tunjić hitting the crossbar with a shot.

The point keeps NK Varaždin firmly in the upper reaches of the league table. The team currently sits in fourth place with 15 points from eight matches, just one point behind leaders Dinamo Zagreb. The team is now unbeaten in its last five matches, with three wins and two draws in that run.

Their next challenge comes on Saturday, October 10th, with an away trip to face Lokomotiva Zagreb. Lokomotiva currently occupy seventh place, and the full fixtures schedule is available to view.
